Pat Lykos is getting away

Following the Harris County, TX DA scandal is almost as entertaining as watching the Giants beat the New England Cheaters Patriots.  Of course, at least the Superbowl was supposed to be entertaining, and didn't involve wrongfully convicting potentially thousands of people.

For those of you who have been paying attention, you will recall that the Harris County Assistant District Attorney in charge of prosecuting DWI's pled the fifth last year in order to avoid answering questions about what she knew about faulty DWI testing equipment.  Now it turns out that during the Grand Jury investigation of that whole matter, the District Attorney decided to launch some sort of investigation of the members of the Grand Jury

If this behavior by this DA's office goes unchecked and unpunished then you can rest assured that we live in a society where the government is no longer "We The People," but is "Us People and You People." Our government is supposed to work for us.  Our DA's are supposed to make sure that we all follow the same rules.  Our courts are supposed to search out and protect justice.  Our tax money is supposed to be spent wisely and misely.

I don't know what sort of investigation will be launched into the allegations that members of the Harris County DA's office used law enforcement only resources to investigate grand jury members, but I do know that if one is not launched the perception will stand that our government got away with protecting itself from accountability and fundamental fairness once again.
