The police will begin issuing tickets for people who text message while driving.  The month of January was the ‘warning’ period and that is now over.   Driver’s can still talk on the phone but you can not send text, surf the web, read emails, play games or adjust music settings. 

However, it is illegal to talk on the phone while driving through a school zone. 

The TEXT Violations will be a Class “C” Misdemeanor which carries a fine of up to $500.00.
