If you get stopped by the Austin police or the San Antonio police you need to understand that you are being recorded.  Stay quiet, and polite, but do not try to offer explanations for your actions or try to answer the officer's questions unrelated to giving your driver's license, proof of insurance, and registration.  Every word you say can potentially count against you.  Stay quiet.
